What is the value of the integer x?
(1) x is a prime number.
(2) 31 <= x < 37
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are suffcient, but NEITHER statement alone is sufficient.

(1) is clearly insufficient - there's an infinite number of primes.
(2) is also insufficient, but constraints the quest to the integers between 31 and 36 (inclusively), as the inequation is x < 37.
There is only one prime integer in this set, thus only the conjunction of conditions leads to a unique solution. In conclusion, only together are the statements sufficient to decide - we take option (C). (thanks to readers contributions)
